So, about midway last year I began to dive into old tech.
I began with buying this really cute CRT tv. Although, I also purchased it because I wanted to downgrade from my flatscreen that I never use. I've since purchased a vhs camcorder, which unfortunately only records audio :/ and I'm now waiting for a smaller vhs-c camcorder as well as a kodak point and shoot camera. I really want to start taking more pictures and my family and friend's get togethers and I feel like I'd rather have a physical copy of my memories than have them be forever in my phone or computer. Plus, the aesthetic is just so nice lol. Here are pics of what I've ordered:
I'm still alive! I don't want to abandon my site, but I'm also bad at staying consistent with things (・・;) so there will def be periods where I won't get anything done on it, but I def won't forget it. These past few months have also been quite busy. I moved out of my tiny studio back at the end of February and into a duplex house with two of my friends. It's been really chill once we got settled and the pets and I have really been enjoying the extra space. As far as my hobbies go, I've slowly started FFXIV again as it's hard not to with all my friends being avid players lol because of this, I've decided to build a sleeper pc and got a desk.My poor little laptop won't survive the entirety of the expansions and playing while laying down on my bed really isn't optimal. With the addition of my desk(which my friend painted for me uwu) I have decided to cut out some shapes from a corkboard that I was able to take from my job...unfortunately the corkboard is just a thin sheet on top of hardboard which makes it much harder to cut with standard tools ...still, I will try. Back to the topic of my sleeper, I found a tower I liked and it's currently just chilling in my room until I slowly manage to build the pc...sadly it will be a project that will take some time as I do not have all the funds at once.Still, I have a vision and a plan. Along with the old tower, I also want to have a crt monitor and an old keyboard. Those things had the best clicks lol. Anyway, below are some pics of my desk and the corkboard. Until next time!
We're officially past the halfway mark of the year! ...and I've only made 3 posts so far with this one '-' Regardless, I come with news of another vintage electronic purchase lol. I went to goodwill a few days ago and saw an 1970s slide projector. I didn't get it at first but couldn't stop thinking about it so ended up going back. It was only $20 and works so why not? Unfortunately, the slide trays they had were for a Kodak projector and not compatible, so I'll have to spend another $20-$30 on one from ebay :/ it is what it is. I had looked into slide photography before so I feel like this will help push me to start it up. Only thing I need now are the funds for it.Things have been going pretty well overall. I was able to participate in my city's pride parade last month and had a great time. The festival portion was a lot of fun too and I was able to record on my camcorder. Hmmm....can't think of too much more rn, catch ya later! The projector in question: (picture to come soon lol)
